Day three of Classes

Hello Everyone! Today was another good day. I woke up a little sleepy, but made it to breakfast without too much trouble.

We started today by joining a critique with the photo students at the Folkhögskola, which was really fun and cool! They all have such unique styles to their photos. I could talk a bunch about each and every book I saw, but I'll keep it short and say I'm really inspired and I hope to be a fraction as good as they are with my photos.  All of the students have been really sociable and I enjoy chatting with all of them! Maybe it's because today marks a week away from home, but I don't feel all that homesick with them around. They really make me feel like I'm okay here. We had fika with good conversation and then went to the photo room to check our film. We then broke for lunch.

After lunch, we went out to the nearby diving platform for the lake to take some photos with clear whites, grays, and blacks so we could develop them and better learn how to print pictures. I had a lot of fun playing around with the strange shape of the platform. After we got some good photos, we were allowed to break for a few hours to swim in the lake. Anyone who knows me knows I do not do water, but I thought "when could I get this opportunity again?" And then I jumped! It wasn't nearly as cold as I thought it would be, but a lake really is a lake, no matter where you are.
After that, we went to the dark room to learn the basics of working our exposure equipment, it is a lot of information to handle, but I am thankful to get to learn. We had a short break before dinner, where we were invited to a BBQ at one of the teacher's house. The photography students were there and I had a lot of fun, so much so that I forgot to take a picture of dinner or anything else. We walked back to the dorms with some of the students, and I am back in my dorm now. I had a really long day, it seems strange that it all happened only today. I hope everyone has had a good day and you find your once-in-a-lifetime opportunities!
I'll see you soon!
