Hello Everyone! Today was a longer day than most. I'm feeling a little under the weather, but I tried to keep up my big plate of breakfast so my energy levels wouldn't drop.
The class found out what went wrong with my friend and I's film rolls. There seems to have been an accident and fixer got placed in with the developer. I'm fortunate that at least one of my rolls made it out, but we had to mix up more developer this morning to replace the ruined batch. I'm disappointed to have lost a film roll to something out of my control, but Örjan was really cool and he replaced my roll with a fresh one that I didn't have to pay for, which I'm extremely grateful for. Enjoy three pictures from my assignment roll that survived!
Lunch was good, I am noting that there seems to be a preference for cold foods in the dining hall. I don't know if this applies to everywhere in Sweden, but many dishes are served chilled.
Immediately after lunch, my group took the train to Jönköping once again and we visited some stores that were closed Sunday. We had fun running around today.
When we got back, we stopped at Sushi Nara for some dinner before visiting our final store of the day in Mullsjö.
We then took the trail that runs by the lake home, as opposed to going through town again. Today had a lot of walking, but I enjoyed it.
I felt a little unwell yesterday, and I forgot to give my little history report on Mullsjö, but I'll go ahead and do it now! Mullsjö municipality was formed in 1952, and it is known for it's lakes and canoeing waters. Mullsjö is also active in winter for cross-country and down-hill skiing. Mullsjö hosts one of Sweden's most famous places for chamber music, Näs Lagård in Bjurbäck, as well as a museum about Scandinavian folklore known as The House of Legends. There is also Marston Hill, an intercultural center for quality of life. This used to be a boarding school founded in 1924 by Charles Allwood, I'd suggest reading up on him, he's rather interesting! I couldn't find any other news that was in english, but I intend to ask around and see if there is more I can learn from the locals.
I hope everyone has had a good day and that you take some time to investigate something you'd never thought to before!
I'll see you soon!
