First Day in Hamburg

Hello everyone! It's good to be resting and making this blog post! After a long day of travel, we arrived in Germany and got to spend our first day walking around and taking things in while we waited to check in at the hotel!
Hamburg is beautiful, and I really enjoy how walkable everything is! There is lots of vegetation everywhere and no shortage of shops and restaurants to check out.
We stopped to pick up some coffee and pastries, and I'll admit I was a little excited and ate them before taking a picture! I had a powdered jelly donut and a strawberry, vanilla custard pastry. Both were very good! And speaking of strawberries;
We picked some up from a local stand and had ourselves a snack! They were fantastic and a little warm from the sun, overall very enjoyable!
We spent a lot of time walking and enjoying the scenery and some art we found while walking.
We also paid a visit to the train station.
My group even took some time aside to visit St. Marien-Dom. The industrial revolution caused an influx of Roman Catholics in Hamburg at the later end of the 19th century. Arnold Güldenpfenning was commissioned to design a neo romanesque style cathedral during this time and the church began it's life as The Church of St. Mary, in 1893. In 2008 it was renovated by the request of the Archbishop of Hamburg at the time, and reopened as St. Marien-Dom.
I have spent the rest of my day catching up on some much needed rest, and I'm looking forward to what tomorrow will bring! I Hope everyone has been well, I'll check in again soon!
